ok, been a little while I admit. So, everyone had fun at the last two events we hosted, but the holidays emerged and we all got a little slack. Now we have a new event in the planning, and it looks like we are going to have some real fun now. I gotta jet for now, but I promise to update some more tonight, and get some more info on the War of the Worlds.
Peace,
It was a great event, everybody had a great time even though we had a couple of no show slackers. The 12 hour LAN-O-THON went great, both teams had a lot of fun. The professionalism of the CT team was cool, even though they lost they never whined once. The Terrorist team had two great players who pretty much dominated the game. There was a little complaining on the Terrorist side about the bots we added to even the sides up, since we had a couple of no shows. The two pros were cool about it but there was a n00b or two that couldn't take the heat of a bot on normal. Next time we have decided to disallow suiciding, since that is as stupid as mana burning oneself (or we will make a penalty for it, like your team loses a couple of points every time a member sucides).
The next event is currently in the planning stages, but will occur some time in August at the same location. To prevent hacking and cheating we've decided to run on a VAC server and place mod's on both sides of the aisle. This is to allievate the poor overworked administrator dealing with allegations about the other team cheating. (Even though he's pretty sure there was no foul play this time, after all, one of his friends sons was over on the other team, and he wants to believe he would have enough character to let him know about any cheating.)
We are going up on price a bit, $10 for pre-registration and $15 at the door. This is because we have to pay rent for the space next time. Karma could soak the first event, but needs some compensation for future events. We at the JCL agree that's fine. Our next event will be without corporate sponsorship, due to the fact we can't get the requests filled out in the required period of time. Don't worry, we'll still have great prizes and the same concessions (including BAWLS and Pizza) that we had this time. Due to the demand for rental rigs we are trying to piece togeather at least two full time rental machines. Monkeyboy and Deadboy have agreed to rent thier machines as well if the demand is great enough.
All in all it was a blast, watch this space for more info about the next event, tenatively titled:
THE BATTLE FOR JEFFERSON
TECHNOBOY OUT
P.S: Hopefully Monkeyboy and Deadboy won't wuss out and sleep next time, come on guys, don't be lightweights!! :)
Doors will open at 6:00 pm, gaming to start by 7:00 pm. Remember that registration cuts off at 6:45 pm and that this a pay to play event. We can't give credit at the door or else we won't be able to keep running events. We are hoping to have some concessions there, but don't count on it. If you need snacky stuff, especially a particular kind of snacky stuff, be sure to bring it. Most likely we will only have BAWLS and candy bars. (Hopefully we will have pizza as well)PS: We don't need any volunteers, so no free passes are available.Technoboy Out
