Our Mission Statement

"To promote computer literacy through interactive media, and by doing so help our community grow."   JCL mission Statement

What is Jefferson Cyberathletics?

Who are we?  What do we do?  Well, first off, we are gamers.  We love the thrill that gaming provides and the social aspects of getting together with friends to do something we all enjoy together.  That aside, we are a not-for-profit organization consisting of three people:

Timothy O'Brien
      Event Coordinator

Shannon Stephens       Treasurer/Purchasing
Greg Gulley             Logistics/Support

We primarly organize LAN party type events in our local area.  Never been to a LAN party? First, you really need to crawl out of that hole you've been living in.  Second, read on and learn!!

What is a LAN party?

LAN parties are named after the connection that links multiple computers together, called a LAN (Local Area Network). This network allows multiple computers to play in the same game at the same time. Do you remember all that drilling and yelling you heard around your college residence hall? It was probably just two creative neighbors sending a cable through the wall for a little one-on-one death match. Now multiply that by 300 gamers and throw in unlimited caffeinated beverages, and you've got an idea what a LAN party is.Intrigued?

The War Begins....

Time to throw another event...

RETROCON 2008

This will be a 25-50 gamer event held locally here at Karma Games.  Your brave Event Coordinator is currently working out the specifics with his crew, but as always it will be the awesome experience that only Jefferson Cyberathletics can bring you.  I've contacted some great sponsors, and we will have the same local support as always.  On the table for games includes a ton of oldies but goodies plus some of the hottest titles on the shelf today.  The only thing that is guaranteed at this point is the Starcraft: get ready for it!  event.  This will prepare you for the mind blowing experience of StarCraft II when it is released later this year.

JCL is accepting Donations

Jefferson Cyberathletics would love to accept donations of current hardware such as motherboards, cases, processors, RAM, video cards, hard drives, and optical drives from the past 2 or 3 years.  We would like to use such donations to create rental machines so more people can learn to love gaming!!  Bring your gently used hardware to one of our LAN events or email us at jeffersoncyberathletics@gmail.com.
